FAQs on Catalytic Converters
How does Catalytic Converters work?
Catalytic converters work by using a series of chemical reactions to reduce pollutants in the exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine. They consist of a core covered with catalysts such as platinum, palladium, and rhodium. As exhaust gases pass through the converter, harmful compounds like carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and hydrocarbons are transformed into less harmful emissions like carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and water vapor. This process helps in reducing the vehicle’s environmental impact.
