Automotive Scrapyard FAQ
How does Automotive Scrapyard work?
An automotive scrapyard, often known as a salvage yard, operates by collecting end-of-life vehicles and dismantling them to recover usable parts and materials. Initially, cars are assessed to determine which parts can be resold or recycled. Once evaluated, the vehicle is stripped of parts that are in good condition, such as engines, transmissions, and electronic components, which are cleaned and tested before being sold. Subsequently, the car frame is crushed and the scrap metal is sent to recycling facilities. This process not only provides affordable auto parts to consumers but also contributes to environmental sustainability through metal recycling.
