How does Automotive Scrapyard work?
What is the process followed by an automotive scrapyard?
Automotive scrapyards operate by first acquiring old and end-of-life vehicles. These vehicles are typically purchased at auctions, from individual owners, or through insurance companies. Upon arrival at the scrapyard, vehicles are assessed, and any usable parts are carefully dismantled and stored for resale. Next, fluids like oil, gasoline, and coolant are safely drained and disposed of according to environmental regulations. Hazardous items, such as batteries and airbags, are removed to prevent safety risks. Remaining vehicle shells are then crushed and sent to recycling facilities where metals are separated for future use. Throughout this process, scrapyards ensure compliance with environmental standards to minimize waste and pollution.
