Automotive Scrapyard FAQ
How does Automotive Scrapyard work?
An automotive scrapyard, also known as a salvage yard or junkyard, is a facility where end-of-life vehicles are processed. When a car arrives at the scrapyard, it is typically assessed for reusable parts. Valuable components such as engines, transmissions, and other parts are removed for resale. Fluids are drained and properly disposed of to prevent environmental contamination. Once the valuable components are removed, the vehicle’s body is crushed and recycled as scrap metal. This process aids in the conservation of materials and reduces waste, while providing a source for affordable used auto parts.
