Automotive Scrapyard
How does an Automotive Scrapyard work?
An automotive scrapyard, also known as a salvage yard, operates by acquiring end-of-life vehicles and dismantling them for parts or recycling. Vehicles are typically collected from owners who no longer need them or from insurance companies when cars are declared a total loss. Upon arrival, the vehicles are evaluated for reusable parts which are then cataloged and stored. Remaining materials, such as metal, are recycled. The salvageable parts are sold to customers, often at a lower cost than new parts. Scrapyards also play a critical role in environmental conservation by properly disposing hazardous materials found in vehicles.
