Automotive Scrapyard Operations FAQ
How does Automotive Scrapyard work?
An automotive scrapyard, often known as a junkyard or wrecking yard, is a facility where old or wrecked vehicles are dismantled, and their reusable parts are made available for sale. The process begins when a vehicle is acquired, either through purchase or by being towed in. The vehicle is then evaluated, and any parts that can be reused are carefully removed, tested for condition, and cataloged. These parts can include anything from engines and transmissions to smaller components like mirrors and seats. The remaining metal shell of the vehicle is usually crushed and sold as scrap metal. Scrapyards provide an environmentally friendly way to recycle automotive parts and materials, contributing to waste reduction and resource conservation.
