FAQ
How does Automotive Scrapyard work?
An automotive scrapyard, also known as a salvage yard or junkyard, operates by acquiring vehicles that are no longer fit for use due to damage, age, or other factors. These vehicles are then systematically dismantled to salvage usable parts and materials. Initially, any hazardous substances like oils and coolants are carefully drained and disposed of responsibly. Next, parts that are in demand, such as engines, transmissions, and body panels, are removed, cleaned, and categorized for resale or recycling. After valuable components are extracted, the remaining frame is crushed and sent to specialized facilities for metals recycling. Automotive scrapyards play a critical role in reducing environmental waste by ensuring that up to 95% of a vehicle’s materials can be reused or recycled.
