How does Metal Recycling work?
Metal recycling involves several steps to ensure the efficient processing and reuse of metal materials. Initially, the collected metals are sorted based on type and chemical composition using techniques such as magnetic separation and eddy current separation. After sorting, the metals are cleaned to remove impurities. This is followed by shredding, where the metal is cut into smaller pieces to facilitate melting. The shredded metal is melted in large furnaces configured for specific metal types. The molten metal is then purified, often through electrolysis or other refining techniques. Finally, the purified metal is solidified into bars or sheets for manufacturing use. The entire process not only conserves natural resources but also requires less energy compared to producing new metal from raw ores.
