How does Metal Recycling work?
Metal recycling involves collecting and processing scrap metal to create new products. The process starts with collecting and sorting metals into categories such as ferrous and non-ferrous. Ferrous metals contain iron, whereas non-ferrous metals do not. The sorted metals are then cleaned to remove impurities. Once cleaned, metals are melted in a furnace suitable for their composition, a step that requires significant energy but much less than producing new metals from raw ore. After melting, the metals are formed into specific shapes like bars or sheets and are cooled. These recycled metals can then be manufactured into a variety of new products, effectively reducing the need for mining raw materials, conserving natural resources, and saving energy.
