How does Catalytic Converters work?
What is a catalytic converter?
A catalytic converter is a device that reduces harmful emissions from internal combustion engines by converting toxic gases into less harmful substances through a chemical reaction.
How does a catalytic converter work?
Catalytic converters have a honeycomb structure coated with metals like platinum, palladium, and rhodium. When exhaust gases pass through the converter, the metals catalyze the chemical reactions that convert pollutants like carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and hydrocarbons into carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and water vapor.
