How does Catalytic Converters work?
A catalytic converter works by converting harmful pollutants in the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine into less harmful pollutants through a series of chemical reactions. Inside the catalytic converter, there are catalysts such as platinum, palladium, and rhodium that facilitate these reactions.
When exhaust gases pass through the catalytic converter, hydrocarbons are converted into carbon dioxide and water, carbon monoxide is converted into carbon dioxide, and nitrogen oxides are converted into nitrogen and oxygen. This helps reduce air pollution and make the exhaust gases less harmful to the environment.
