FAQ on Automotive Scrapyards
How does an automotive scrapyard work?
An automotive scrapyard, also known as a salvage yard, operates by acquiring vehicles that are no longer functional or economically viable to repair. These vehicles are dismantled to salvage usable parts and materials. Initially, hazardous materials such as fluids and batteries are safely removed. The vehicle is then disassembled, and parts that are in good condition are cataloged and stored for resale. Non-functional or excess components are crushed and sent to recycling facilities. This process not only helps in recycling metal and other materials but also provides consumers with access to affordable second-hand auto parts.
