Frequently Asked Questions about Automotive Scrapyards
How does an Automotive Scrapyard work?
An automotive scrapyard, also known as a salvage yard, is a facility where end-of-life vehicles are processed. The process begins with the acquisition of vehicles that are no longer roadworthy or have been damaged beyond repair. Once received, the vehicles are assessed for reusable parts, which are removed and cataloged for sale. Non-salvageable parts and materials are recycled according to environmental standards. The remaining vehicle frame is subsequently crushed and transported to a recycling facility to be melted down and repurposed.
