Automotive Scrapyard Operations
How does Automotive Scrapyard work?
An automotive scrapyard, often known as an auto salvage yard or junkyard, functions by acquiring damaged, old, or non-functional vehicles. Upon arrival, these vehicles are assessed to determine which parts can be resold or recycled. Usable parts are extracted, cleaned, and cataloged for resale at a reduced cost compared to new parts. The remaining car materials, primarily metal, are then crushed and sold as scrap for recycling. This operation contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing waste and promoting the reuse of auto parts.
