FAQ: Car Recycling
How does Car Recycling work?
Car recycling involves several steps to ensure that the vehicle’s components and materials are managed responsibly. Initially, the car is collected by a recycling facility where it undergoes depollution, which includes the removal of hazardous materials such as oils, fuels, and refrigerants. Once depolluted, the car is disassembled, and parts that can be reused, such as engines, transmissions, and electronics, are extracted. The remaining materials, primarily metals, are then shredded and separated using various techniques like magnetic sorting to recover ferrous and non-ferrous metals. These materials are then processed and can be used in manufacturing new products, significantly reducing environmental impact and conserving natural resources.
