Automotive Scrapyard: How it Works
How does an Automotive Scrapyard work?
An automotive scrapyard, also known as a salvage yard, operates as a business where end-of-life vehicles are dismantled, and their parts are either resold, recycled, or disposed of. When a vehicle arrives at the scrapyard, it undergoes a process of depollution where hazardous materials such as oils, batteries, and refrigerants are carefully removed. Valuable parts that are still in good working condition are identified and extracted for resale. The remaining metal is typically crushed and sent for recycling. This process not only provides parts for repairs but also contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing the need for new materials and aiding in waste reduction.
