An automotive scrapyard, also known as a salvage yard or junkyard, is a facility where end-of-life vehicles are disassembled and recycled. The process typically begins with the purchase or receipt of used or damaged vehicles. Once acquired, the vehicles undergo an initial inspection, and valuable parts are removed for resale, including engines, transmissions, and body panels. Fluids and hazardous materials like oil, refrigerants, and batteries are carefully extracted for proper disposal or recycling. The remaining metal shell is then shredded and sorted for recycling.
