Automotive Scrapyard FAQ
How does an Automotive Scrapyard work?
An automotive scrapyard, also known as a junkyard or salvage yard, operates by collecting old or damaged vehicles that are no longer fit for use on the roads. Once these vehicles arrive, the scrapyard staff will assess them to determine whether any components can be harvested for resale or reuse. Usable parts such as engines, transmissions, and electronic modules are carefully extracted. The remaining metal, plastic, and glass are then disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner, often by being sent for recycling. This process not only helps in reclaiming valuable resources but also minimizes waste and environmental impact.
