How Automotive Scrapyards Work
How does Automotive Scrapyard work?
An automotive scrapyard, often referred to as a junkyard or wrecking yard, operates by acquiring old or damaged vehicles that are no longer functional or economical to repair. Upon reception, these vehicles undergo an inspection process where usable parts are identified and removed for resale. This may include engines, transmissions, and various body or electrical components. Parts are cleaned, tested, and inventoried for sale to customers looking for affordable replacement parts. The remaining vehicle carcasses, mostly consisting of metal, are then crushed and sold to metal recycling facilities. This system promotes environmental sustainability by reusing parts and recycling materials, thereby reducing the need for new production.
