Automotive Scrapyard FAQ
How does an Automotive Scrapyard work?
An automotive scrapyard, also known as a salvage yard or junkyard, operates as a facility where old, wrecked, or otherwise inoperable vehicles are brought for recycling and dismantling. Upon arrival, vehicles are typically evaluated for reusable parts, which are then removed, cleaned, tested, and stored for resale. Fluids are properly drained and hazardous materials are disposed of in an environmentally safe manner. The remaining vehicle structures are typically crushed and recycled as scrap metal. These facilities help in reducing waste by efficiently recycling materials and providing affordable auto parts to consumers.
